They can soften or even melt in high temperatures due to the natural oils and butters. If this happens, just bring it back into a room temperature (or cooler) place and allow to harden. In large temperature fluctuations, the balms can become grainy. The softening and/or graininess do not effect the quality of the balms what-so-ever. These are natural changes that occur to the shea and cocoa butters.
